Services

Ian Benjamin Psychology offers face-to-face and telehealth (phone or video) psychology services for people aged 16 years-old and over.

Services offered:

  • Medicare consumers -
  • In order to qualify for a Medicare rebate or bulk-billing under the Medicare Benefit Schedule (MBS - Better Access Initiative), a GP referral is required. Medicare consumers can get up to ten 50-minute appointments of psychotherapy support (Focused Psychological Strategies) per calendar year.

  • Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) consumers -
  • In order to qualify for bulk-billing through Services Australia, eligible DVA consumers will require a GP referral.

  • SIRA (NSW) - Workers Compensations Scheme or CTP Insurance Scheme consumers -
  • For consumers seeking psychological support as part of your recovery plan, please ensure you have discussed your circumstances with relevant third-parties (e.g. employer, insurer, rehab provider, GP). Support can begin after your insurer has approved an Allied Health Treatment Request, typically involving information you provide to Ian Benjamin Psychology.

  • Eurobodalla Shire Council - Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - For eligible employees of Eurobodalla Shire Council, limited psychotherapy sessions can be arranged and paid for by Eurobodalla Shire Council. If required, extended support can be arranged subject to approval from the Human Resources department of the Eurobodalla Shire Council.

  • Private consumers -
  • No referral required, full fees apply, no rebates available, unlimited support (see table below).


  • National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants -
  • Non-clinical supports - regarding skills, education, and self-improvement - may be available under the support category "Capacity Building - Improved Daily Living" for self-managed or plan-managed NDIS participants. Please note that Ian Benjamin Psychology does not support NDIA-managed participants.
    Self-managed NDIS participants will be invoiced directly after receiving a service, and can subsequently seek reimbursement through the NDIS Portal.
    For plan-managed NDIS participants, your plan manager will be invoiced for services you receive; please ensure you have considered your funding capacity before undertaking support.

    Service format and delivery:

  • Face-to-face and Telehealth (phone or video) services are offered. Video format will require an internet-enabled computer or smartphone with adequate data speed and reception. Face-to-face services are in Moruya, NSW (address provided when first appointment is made).
    NOTE: No toilet facilities available, on-street parking available.

  • All appointments are 50 minutes long unless otherwise stated.

  • For safety and legal reasons, face-to-face appointments will be recorded and stored securely.


    Service Fees and Policies:

  • See table below for fee structure.
    For Medicare consumers with a valid health care or concession card issued by Services Australia and for all Department of Veterans Affairs consumers, fees can be bulk-billed with no out-of-pocket gap!


  • If you seek to have services provided to you by Ian Benjamin Psychology bulk-billed to Medicare, you will be requested to provide an authorisation on your Client Registration form and after each appointment (by replying to an email).
    For fee-paying consumers, online payments (Card/Link) are accepted via e-invoices. Online payments are PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant (safe).
    PLEASE NOTE: FOR ONLINE PAYMENTS, TRANSACTION FEES APPLY (Please see the table below).
    All outstanding payments must be settled before future appointments can continue, debt recovery action may apply in some cases.
    Medicare consumers can use their invoice-paid receipt from Ian Benjamin Psychology to claim a rebate (currently $96.65 for one hour appointments) from Services Australia.


  • Please note that 50% late cancellation (within 24 hours) and 100% non-attendance fees apply, which are not redeemable. An authority to charge these fees will be required. Please note both these fees will typically be delivered by e-invoice for online payment and therefore will incur a transaction fee.

1 - Appointments are 50 minutes, unless otherwise stated.
2 - For private fee-paying consumers and non bulk-billed consumers, you will be invoiced by email which will include an embedded online payment option (accepting Mastercard or Visa card) after each appointment. Ian Benjamin Psychology will not request, store, or use your debit/credit card information if you use these e-invoices to make your payments.
Please Note: For online payments, additional transaction fees will apply.

For consumers without an email, other arrangements can be discussed. Please note that that invoices for online payments, including relevant transaction fees, also apply to non-attendance and late-cancellation fees; your consent to allow Ian Benjamin Psychology to invoice you for these fees will be required before commencing support. Please be aware that debt recovery action may be taken in the event of late payments or non-payments. If you have any questions, please contact Ian Benjamin Psychology.
3 - For non-concessionally eligible Medicare consumers, you may claim the rebate amount from Services Australia using your receipt that Ian Benjamin Psychology will email you after full payment has been received. For concessionally eligible Medicare and DVA consumers, you may authorise Ian Benjamin Psychology to bulk-bill Medicare - no gap fee!
4 - Please be aware standard consultation fees (excluding SIRA/NDIS/DVA and Medicare bulk-billed consumers) will increase on July 1, 2025 to $130 per session (excluding transaction fees for online payments) to reflect increases in CPI and administrative costs. This fee increase will apply to non-attendance and late-cancellation fees. Medicare rebates are typically indexed (increased) each year on July 1.
5 - Initial SIRA appointment fee is prescribed at $271.60 an hour. SIRA fees may be charged per 30-minute pro-rata equivalent, up to one hour per day. Your insurer will be invoiced for these fees at the end of treatment. Please note that both an approval letter from your insurer and a referral letter/Certificate of Capacity from your GP must be received by Ian Benjamin Psychology.
